THE FUTURE STRUCTURE OF ED&D

Hi all

The structure of ED&D is still to be decided, since it is pretty obvious that if we are going to make the best D&D possible, meaning a structured and huge house rule compiling and choosing the best out of all D&D editions upto and including 3.5 and SRD, it's only natural that things may become a bit loony here.

So here is the deal:

After colecting the best information about the editions, and anyone can do this the way he sees best, he will discuss rules based on topics. These, just for now, are the following:

Basic Rules
Equipment
Classes
Feats / Proficiencies /Skills
Races
Creatures
Templates
Deities
Magic
Campaign Globalization

This is a way of getting the mind organized. We will be discussing everything, and nothing will be a tabu to discuss. There will certainly be heated debates, but we are all grown-ups and I believe everyone can take an offense or two if things go wary. :)

Anyway, I also would like to mention a little detail. This is a blog and I am the admnistrator. However, if a person is commenting and giving feedback above the normal "Yeah I go with that" and really wishes to put in writing some good and long ideas for everyone, I will be more than willing to give that person access to write directly into the blog.

Ok people. Tell me what's in your mind and what you think of the division above and everything it's going on. Not really want to this by myself. I would if no one cares, but I really would rather have other people involved. :)

Cheers

First Point: Are psions allowed? If so, which edition? 2nd Edition? 3rd Edition (I refuse 3.5, too munchkin)

Definitely. Psionics as a whole have been around since ever, and what we must see is the way in which we can make them balanced (to answer the last part). Anything can be balanced in my point of view, we just have to make sure to test things and see all the angles for a certain situation. Removing psionics from D&D would be non-sense, since it would take out Mind Flayers for instance, and I don't want that. :) Even 3.5 can be used, if seen carefully and OBVIOUSLY nerfed. In fact, Psionics will suffer the same thing that I plan to discuss for magic, the HalfNeff rule: basically cutting spell (psionic) power in a half. But we will discuss that further. If you want to make a preperatory post about them, and point out the good and bad things, do so. You are officially invited. :) Cheers and welcome ED&D my friend.
